Welcome to SK! I was excited to welcome the JK's to our class for Year a Head Day! We started our morning engaging in Reading Buddies with the grade 4 students.
Inquiry into Language
The students practiced the formation and sound of the letter Aa. We put our thinking caps on and brainstormed words and names that began with the letter Aa. The students enjoyed and search and find game, where each student had the opportunity to look for a letter Aa picture and word card in the classroom.
Inquiry into Math
The students had a lot of fun exploring using a variety of manipulatives to create patterns.
Unit of Inquiry
The students were introduced to our Community Helpers unit. We shared our ideas about what we already know about helpers in our community. The students listened to a read a loud about Let's Meet a Dentists. We worked as a team and classified which pictures were good and not good for our teeth.
