Wonderful Wednesday!

Language
The students practiced the formation and sound of the letter A.  The students practiced printing upper and lower case letter A and short words that begin with the letter A in their printing books.  We also enjoyed an eye spy game, finding pictures in our large Jolly Phonics book, that begins with the letter A.

Unit of Inquiry
The students watched a short educational video about the process of wheat from the farm to foods that we eat from home.  We reviewed the steps with a sharing circle and worked on our own booklets that was titled From Seed to Cereal.  The students practiced their cutting skills, sequencing and early reading skills.

Math
The SK's worked in groups using manipulatives to show their understanding of numbers from 1 to 15.  I challenged the students to use the manipulatives to show me the value of various numbers.  In our Math books, we worked together to draw symbols to show the value of numbers provided and two different ways.
