Thankful Thursday!

We started our day with a Terry Fox Assembly and Reading Buddies with the grade 4 students.

Language
The students reviewed the formation and sound of the letter A.  The students practiced printing upper and lower case letter A and circled short A words with an activity sheet.  We enjoyed exploring a search and find game using A word picture cards.  Each of the students had the opportunity to find a card hidden in the classroom and practiced spelling the word.

Unit of Inquiry
The students listened to a read a loud titled Farm Animals.  We discussed the different types of animals we find on the farm, what resources we get from animals and how certain animals may help on the farm.  The students worked individually on a cutting and pasting cow activity.

Math
The SK's worked on the value of five with five frames.  The students worked in groups using five frames and counters to show numbers from 0 to 5.  They also worked individually on a five frame activity sheet.
