Fantastic Friday!

We started our morning with Reading Buddies with the grade 4's and our show & share presentations.  The students did a great job presenting items from home that began with the letters of the week (T & P).

Language
We combined our unit of inquiry with Language today, the students practiced their writing skills while completing an activity sheet about how to make butter.  The students had to list the materials we were using and the steps to make the butter.

Unit of Inquiry
The students had so much fun making our own butter today!  We discussed the materials we needed, the steps to make it and where the milk we were using came from.  Each student had the opportunity to shake a jar filled with heavy cream.  We also talked about how using force (shaking) can help turn the liquid (milk) into a solid (butter).  The SK's enjoyed tasting the butter they made with goldfish crackers.

Math
The SK's continued working on ten frames and were 20 frames.  The students used manipulatvies and worked on an activity sheet to show their understanding.
