Fun Friday!

Raptors win!!!!

We had a few friends present their show & share.  Ms. Yustin was also away for track & field, we enjoyed gross motor activities outside with the other SK classes.

Inquiry into Language

The SK's practiced the formation and sound of the long i and silent e.  The students practiced printing long i and silent e short words in their printing booklets and worked with partners on a word search.

UOI

The students continued our UOI on Seasons (Summer).  The SK's worked on a I Love Summer writing activity.

Daily 5

The students were engaged in Literacy Centers with partners.

Math

The SK's continued our unit in Geometry (3D shapes).  The students had a lot of fun investigating outside the classroom to find various 3D shapes.  When the students found an item or object that looked like a 3D shape, they had to document it in a chart.

Inquiry into Language

The SK's practiced the formation and sound of the long i and silent e.  The students practiced reading short sentences and had to determine which word completed the sentence with an activity sheet.  We had a few risk takers that read each sentence out loud for the class.  We also discussed the meaning of each short word.

UOI

The students continued our UOI on Seasons (Summer).  The SK's enjoyed exploring the beautiful weather outside and used chalk to create art pieces with the other SK classes.

The students were engaged in Literacy Centers with partners.

Math

The SK's continued our unit in Geometry (3D shapes).  The students worked with partners to colour and match the corresponding 3D shape with a picture.

Reminders:

*For the Promotion Ceremony, all students will be called on stage to receive their promotion certificate. Only 4 students will receive an academic award for an outstanding achievement throughout the year. There will be no time to take pictures on stage, pictures will be taken as a class group after receiving the certificate.

After the ceremony, we will return to school to finish off the day, but parents are welcome to pick up their child after the ceremony (around 11am), just let me know.

Inquiry into Language

The SK's practiced the formation and sound of the long i and silent e.  The students brainstormed and read words with long i and silent e on the board.  They also worked with partners to write and match pictures with words.

The students continued our UOI on Seasons (Summer).  The SK's worked on a summer themed I Spy Game.  The students had to walk around the classroom to find the matching words with its corresponding picture and write it down.

The SK's continued our unit in Geometry (3D shapes).  The students worked with partners with an activity sheet, to match 3D shapes with pictures of various items and recorded their observations on a chart.

The students were engaged in Literacy Centers with partners.

Math

The SK's continued our unit in Geometry (3D shapes).  The students worked in groups to classify and group 3D shapes, using picture cards.  I only gave them the instructions and the students had to work together to determine what jobs each student in their group will have.  There were a lot of problem solving skills used for this activity.

Music
The students enjoyed music class with Ms. McMillan.
