Letters of the Week: Mm & Dd
Another week is upon us and even though it is a short week, it will be a busy one! International Day is this Thursday, October 4th from 2:30 to 3:15 pm in the classrooms. There is no school on Friday, October 5th and Monday, October 8th.
Inquiry into Language
The SK's learned the formation, sound and brainstormed words that began with the letter Mm. The students also worked in their Printing Booklets and on a worksheet. Here is the link to the Jolly Phonics song for the letter Mm: Jolly Phonics Song Letter Mm
Gym
Ms. Yustin had the students engaged in variety of gross motor games.
French
Mlle. Hou continued to teach the students about farm animals in French.
Unit of Inquiry
The students learned about parts of the plant that we can eat. The SK's shared their ideas and what they already know about the topic and watched a video. We worked together in reading a booklet as a class on the carpet that showed us what parts of the plant we eat and what kinds of foods we get from plants. This booklet will be helpful for the students when working on their Summative Assignment that will be sent home and in class work tomorrow.
Daily 5
We enjoyed Reading Buddies with the Grade 4 students today.
Math
The SK's continued with the estimating activity that we started on Friday. The students had to estimate how many candies were inside a jar! We recorded our estimations on a class chart and worked on an activity sheet.
