Orange t-shirt Day was a success! Ms. Hayward stopped by today to read a story titled Lost Words. It focused on a little girl and her grandfather who are both Aboriginal. She tries to reteach her grandfather their language, because he had lost it as a young child growing up in the residential schools. We had a sharing circle and a few of the students shared their sympathy for the grandfather.
Inquiry into Language
The SK's did a great job with their first Spelling Test! They were all very excited and did an amazing job sitting quietly during the test.
Gym
Ms. Yustin had Fun Friday gross motor activities for the students today.
French
Mlle. Hou continued to teach the students about farm animals in French.
Unit of Inquiry
We combines our UOI with Art today, each student had the opportunity to make a flower using a variety of materials.
Music
Mr. Flower's had the students participate in a variety of songs and continued to teach them simple music notes.
Daily 5
The students enjoyed Literacy Centers today and were engaged in groups.
Math
The SK's had fun estimating how many candies were inside a jar! We recorded our estimations on a class chart and worked on an activity sheet.

Reminders:
-Chudleigh's Apple Farm trip will take place October 15th. Students are to wear gym clothes on that day.
-Uniform shoes: black shoes are to be worn with all navy socks and gym shoes are to be worn with all white socks.
-International Day is on October 4th. Parents are welcome to visit the classrooms to view the presentations from 2:30 to 3:15 pm. Our class will be learning more about and presenting the country of Jamaica! Please feel free to bring in any books, pictures, clothing, toys or food that we can use for our presentation. Thank you again to those who have been bringing in items =)
-Friday, October 5th is a PD day, the school will be closed.
