It's Friday!!!!

Orange t-shirt Day was a success!  Ms. Hayward stopped by today to read a story titled Lost Words.  It focused on a little girl and her grandfather who are both Aboriginal.  She tries to reteach her grandfather their language, because he had lost it as a young child growing up in the residential schools.  We had a sharing circle and a few of the students shared their sympathy for the grandfather.

Inquiry into Language
The SK's did a great job with their first Spelling Test!  They were all very excited and did an amazing job sitting quietly during the test.

Ms. Yustin had Fun Friday gross motor activities for the students today.

Mlle. Hou continued to teach the students about farm animals in French.

Unit of Inquiry
We combines our UOI with Art today, each student had the opportunity to make a flower using a variety of materials.

Mr. Flower's had the students participate in a variety of songs and continued to teach them simple music notes.

Daily 5
The students enjoyed Literacy Centers today and were engaged in groups.

The SK's had fun estimating how many candies were inside a jar!  We recorded our estimations on a class chart and worked on an activity sheet.
