Inquiry into Language

The SK's practiced the formation and sound of the blend sound ey.  The students brainstormed and took turns writing words on the board and practiced their printing skills in their booklets.

UOI

The students continued our UOI on Seasons (Summer).  The SK's enjoyed a sharing circle and talked about what they did during their long weekend, most students shared about how they saw fire works.  We worked on sentence writing, using our experiences seeing fore works as our topic.

Daily 5

The students were engaged in Literacy Centers with partners.

Math

The SK's continued our unit in Geometry (2D shapes).  The students used play dough to create a variety of 2D shapes, each student had the choice to create 3 or 4 shapes and had to explain to me: the name of the shape they chose? If it has sides and corners? How many?

-         Thursday, May 23^rd - Track and Field – please wear gym uniform (freezes for sale $1.00/jumbo freeze)

-         Thursday, May 23^rd – Year-End Play Day form is due

-         Tuesday, May 28^th – Bake Sale

-         Wednesday, May 29^th – Casual Day and Bake Sale

-Thursday, May 30th-Spelling Test

-June 3rd-7th-Summative Presentations

-         Tuesday, June 11^th – Water Day for the JKs (apply sunscreen before coming to school, wear a bathing suit under your casual clothes, bring a towel and a hat). J

-         Wednesday, June 12^th – Year-End Play Day @ the dome

-         Friday, June 14^th –Promotion Ceremonies (9-11am at the dome)
