Windy Wednesday!

The SK's did a great job with our in class spelling bee, I will be sending an email to parents to let you know who was chosen to move on.  We also had fun with the teacher pie in the face for the Spring Fundraiser!

Inquiry into Language
The SK's practiced the sound and formation of the blend sound ay.  The SK's brainstormed ay words and practiced their printing skills in their booklets.  The students worked with partners and were engaged with a reading activity using dice.

UOI
We continued our UOI on Community Helpers!  I decided to have the students work on the rough copy of the written part of their assignment today, to give them enough time (Friday will be very busy!).  I worked with each student individually to make the necessary corrections needed.

Daily 5
The students were engaged in Literacy Centers with partners.

Math
The SK's continued learning about Canadian money (coins).  Today the students were introduced to the Loonie.  We learned more about how to spell the word, the value and the various ways to write it.  The SK's worked with partners on an activity sheet and manipulatives.
