The SK's practiced the sound and formation of the blend sound aw and brainstormed words on the board.  The SK's practiced their printing and spelling skills with an activity sheet.

UOI
Our class continued learning more about the season Spring!  The students worked with partners with a Write the Room activity.  The students had to find the matching words and record them on an activity sheet.

Daily 5
The students were engaged in Literacy Centers with partners and Reading Buddies with the grade 4 students.

Math
The SK's continued learning more about Measurement.  The students worked on measuring items around the classroom and placing them in order from shortest to longest.

Fantastic Friday!

We did not have Music class today, due to Ms. McMillan running Arts Night practice.  We did get a chance to practice our song and actions to prepare for Arts Night.  Students also presented pictures of their families for their show & share.

Inquiry into Language
The SK's practiced the sound and formation of the blend sound ue.  The SK's practiced printing ue blend in upper/lower case and words in their printing books.

UOI
Our class continued learning more about the season Spring!  The students were excited to take home their seeds and were introduced to a our class egg!  The students made predictions of what will come out of the egg.  We also worked on Spring trees using tissue paper, for an art project.

The students were engaged in Literacy Centers with partners.

Math
The SK's continued learning more about Measurement.  The students were introduced to the measurement of Area.  The SK's worked in groups in their Math books and using a variety of manipulative as measuring tools.

Terrific Thursday!

Inquiry into Language
The SK's practiced the sound and formation of the blend sound eu.  The SK's brainstormed eu blend words and worked with partners to classify "real" and" nonsense" words with an activity sheet.

Our class continued learning more about the season Spring!  The students listened to a Spring themed read a loud story and used paint and their finger prints to create an art piece for Arts Night.

The students were engaged in Literacy Centers with partners.

Math
The SK's continued learning more about Measurement.  The students listened to a story that was titled Measuring Up and we all worked together on a measuring name activity.  Each of the students wrote their names and had to determine as a class whose name was the longest, shortest and the same?

Windy Wednesday!

Inquiry into Language
The SK's practiced the sound and formation of the blend sound ir.  The SK's worked on their printing skills in their booklets and worked with partners with an activity sheet.  The students had to match the ir blend words and fill in the missing letters.

UOI
Our class enjoyed exploring the outdoors with the other SK classes, as part of our nature walk for our unit of inquiry (Seasons/Spring).  The students had partners and had to check spring items that they found outdoors, to complete their Spring Nature Hunt.  When we got back, we had a sharing circle and talked about what we observed and wrote sentences in our Journals.

The students were engaged in Literacy Centers with partners.

Math
The SK's continued learning more about Measurement.  The students worked in their math books and worked with partners with a nonstandard unit measuring activity.  The SK's used a variety of materials as measuring tools and recorded their finding in their math books.

Music
Ms. McMillan was away today, we continued practicing our song for Arts Night.
