Windy & cold Wednesday!

Inquiry into Language
The students presented their poems to all the SK classes today and worked on the formation and sound of the blend ar.  The students worked with partners on a ar word search activity sheet, they also had to fill in the blanks to complete sentences with ar words.  Here is the song:ar song

UOI
We continued our UOI on Community Helpers!  We brainstormed as a class what responsibilities the teacher has and how they help the community.  The SK's worked in groups and took turns role playing being a teacher and student.  As the role of the teacher, the SK's had to teach their group the name, sound, formation and a word that began with the letter that they chose at random from a bag.  The students enjoyed taking on the role of the teacher in their groups!

Daily 5
The students were engaged in Literacy Centers with partners today and Library with Msr. Hayward.

Math
The SK's reviewed what they learned about time by the hour and half hour to prepare for the test on Friday.  The students had fun with a "Write the Room" activity, they had to write down and find different clocks times around the classroom.


Reminders:
-The school will be closed for a PD day and Family day on February 15th & 18th.
-Math Time test is on Friday, February 22nd.
-Bake Sale: February 26th & 27th.
-Casual day is on February 27th.
-Spelling test is on Thursday, February 28th.
-Anti bullying day is on February 28th, students may come to school wearing pink.

-Pancake Day is on March 5th.
-March Break is from the 11th to 22nd.
