Happy Monday!

We started our morning with a little fashion show, the students who dressed for the book fair fantasy theme had the opportunity to talk about their costumes.

Inquiry into Language
The students presented their poems to all the SK classes today and worked on the formation and sound of the blend oo.  The students worked their printing skills on their printing booklets and worked with a partner with a reading dice game.  Here is the song:oo song

UOI
We started a new unit today that was focused on Community Helpers!  We brainstomred and shared what we already know about community helpers.  Each student also shared what they would like to be when they grow up and worked with partners to fill out a "When I Grow Up" graphing sheet.

Daily 5
The students were engaged in Literacy Centers with partners today.

Math
The SK's reviewed what they learned about time by the hour.  We started a new lesson on time by the half hour, we used the big classroom clock and mini clocks to practice.  The students also worked on a practice worksheet.

Music

Reminders:
-100th day of School will be held on Wednesday, February 13th.  Students will dress up like they are 100 years old on that day!
-Spirit day is on February 14th, students may dress up in Valentine's Day colours (red, white, pink).
-The school will be closed for a PD day and Family day on February 15th & 18th.
-Bake Sake: February 26th & 27th.
-Pancake Day is on March 5th.
