Tremendous Thursday!


Inquiry into Language
The SK's practiced the sound and formation of the ff. The students brainstormed words that end with the ff sound and practiced printing in their Journals.  The students worked on an activity sheet with partners and had to find words that ended with ff in a word search.  Here is the link to the Jolly Phonics Letter Ff song:Jolly Phonics letter Ff song:

Gym
Ms. Yustin had the students engaged in a variety of gross motor and team building activities.

French
Mlle. Hou taught the students the five senses vocabulary in French.  Her is the link to her website: http://mllehousja.blogspot.ca/

UOI
We continued our Space unit and the four phases of the moon.  Today the students watched a video that taught the students more facts about the moon.  The SK's worked with partners to complete a word search activity sheet.

Library
The students enjoyed listening to a story with Mrs. Hayward.

Daily 5
The SK's had a lot of fun with their reading buddies today, the SK's and grade 4 students took turns reading and listening to stories.

Math
The students continued our new Math unit with Data Management.  The students were engaged with a tally and graphing activity.  The SK's had to ask five friends what their favorite vegetable was and they had to graph their findings using pictures in their Math book.

Reminders: 
-Science Fair is on November 16th, parents may come to visit from 2:30 to 3:15 pm.
-Scholastic book orders are due Friday, November 16th.
-To prepare for the upcoming Christmas Concert, I would like parents to begin purchasing a pair of reindeer antlers for their child (costume for the Christmas Concert).  Students are also going to be wearing black/ brown clothing for the concert.
-Report Cards will be going home on Friday, November 30th.
