Tired Thursday (the day after Halloween!)

Hello SK parents! I hope everyone recovered from last night.  Tomorrow I will be sending home a review package for the up coming Patterns Test for next Thursday, before the PD day.  We also began our Candy Corn Science Investigation for the Science Fair on November 15th.

Inquiry into Language
The SK's practiced the sound and formation of the letter Rr. The students practiced their printing lower & upper case letter Rr and short Rr words in their Journals.   They also were challenged with a word search, students were encouraged to work in partners or in a group.  Here is the link to the Jolly Phonics Letter Rr song:Jolly Phonics Letter R song:

Gym
Ms. Yustin had the students engaged in a variety of gross motor and team building activities.

French
Mlle. Hou continued to teach the parts of the body vocabulary in French.

Unit of Inquiry
The students continued to learn more about our five senses.  Today we focused on our sense of hearing, the students played a listening game where I played a variety of sounds and the students had to guess what it was.

Music
Mr. Flower helped introduce the song that we will be performing for the Christmas Concert.  It's a secret! We would like to surprise all the parents with our performance.

Math
The students continued to work on patterning, today we focused on "what comes next?".  The students had to finish a variety of patterns using manipulatives and working in their Math books and activity sheet.

Reminders:
