Snowy Tuesday!

The SK's are enjoying all the snow outside and are making sure to dress for the weather!  I will be sending home a Data Management review package home tomorrow to prepare the students for the test on Wednesday, November 28th.

Inquiry into Language
The SK's practiced the sound and formation of the letter Ll. The students practiced printing on the white board and in their Printing booklets.  The students worked on an activity sheet with partners and had to find words that begin with the letter Ll.  Here is the link to the Jolly Phonics Letter Ll song:Jolly Phonics Letter Ll Song:

Gym
Ms. Yustin had the students begin a new unit today, they enjoyed exploring gymnastics!

French
Mlle. Hou taught the students the five senses vocabulary in French.  Her is the link to her website: http://mllehousja.blogspot.ca/

UOI
We continued our Space unit and focused our learning on the stars and constellations.  Today the students watched a video that introduced to the students how stars are made and what are constellations.  We worked on another writing activity, each student had to write a sentence about what they would wish for if they saw a wishing star.

Daily 5
The SK's were engaged in Literacy Centers today, with books and puzzles.

Math
The students continued our new Math unit with Data Management.  The students were engaged with a tally and graphing activity.  The SK's worked in partners to answer the math question: is Christmas your favorite holiday?  The SK's had to ask everyone in the class, tally their answers and than graph it.

Reminders:
-To prepare for the upcoming Christmas Concert, I would like parents to begin purchasing a pair of reindeer antlers for their child (costume for the Christmas Concert).  Students are also going to be wearing black/ brown clothing for the concert.
-Data Management Test is on Wednesday, November 28th.
-Report Cards will be going home on Friday, November 30th.
