Chilly Tuesday!

It is getting cold out there! Just a reminder to parents that the colder temperatures are upon us and that means hat, gloves, winter boots and coats!  If you have not already, please sign your child's Pattern test and return.

Inquiry into Language
The SK's practiced the sound and formation of the letter Ff. The students brainstormed names and words that begin with the letter Ff and practiced printing in their Journals.  We are beginning to print short sentences in our Journals as well.  Here is the link to the Jolly Phonics Letter Ff song:Jolly Phonics letter Ff song:

Gym
Ms. Yustin had the students engaged in a variety of gross motor and team building activities.

French
Mlle. Hou taught the students the five senses vocabulary in French.  Her is the link to her website: http://mllehousja.blogspot.ca/

UOI
We continued our Space unit and this week we will be learning about the moon and the four phases.  Today the students watched a video that taught them a song about the four phases of the moon.  The SK's were engaged with a role playing activity, where each student had the chance to act out how the moon orbits the earth and the sun reflects on the moon.

Daily 5
The students were engaged in Literacy Centers today.

Math
The students started our new Math unit with Data Management.  The students were introduced to both math vocabulary graph and tally.  The students were engaged with a name activity, we had to tally and graph as a class how many letters in each persons name.  The students also showed their understanding in their Math Books.
