We continued our pumpkin investigation today and practiced more patterning! I have also sent home the next Summative Assignment, Outside Our Window. This assignment will be on going throughout the year and will be presented in June next year. There is also a tracking sheet attached to help parents and students to stay organized. Inquiry into Language
The SK's practiced the sound and formation of the letter ck, the students worked on printing upper and lower case CK in their printing booklets and had to identify and match words that ended in CK with an activity sheet.
Gym
Ms. Yustin had the students engaged in a variety of gross motor and team building activities.
French
Mlle. Hou continued to teach the students about farm animals in French.
Unit of Inquiry
We continued our Pumpkin Investigation today by counting how many seeds were inside our pumpkin, how long it was using snap cubes to measure and what design the students wanted to carve on the pumpkin. Students also had to record their findings on an activity sheet.
Daily 5
The SK's enjoyed exploring Literacy Centers today, using books and activities.
Math
The students continued to work on patterning, using manipulatives and worksheet. The students worked on creating ABC patterns using snap cubes and had to show their understanding by recreating the patterns in their Math books.
Reminders:
-Picture Day is on Thursday, October 25th.
-Spelling test is on Friday, October 26th.
-Casual Day and Bake Sale are on Tuesday, October 30th.
-Spirit/Halloween Day students can dress up in their costumes, please no masks and weapons.
