Wacky Wednesday!

We started our morning with another House Game to celebrate Wacky Wednesday!  The students enjoyed talking about the different things they chose to wear today.

Inquiry into Language
The students practiced the formation and sound of the blend sound EAR and practiced printing in their printing books.  The students also brainstormed and took turns reading short EAR words.

Inquiry into Math
The students started a new unit on Money.  The students were introduced to the Dime, we talked about the name, value and characteristics of the coin.  We used our 100 chart sheet to assist us in counting by 5's.  The students used their sheet and manipulatives to work  on an activity sheet.

Unit of Inquiry
The students continued learning more about Community Helpers.  The students reviewed what they already learned about community helpers, the different kinds we can find in our neighborhood, how do they help us and what tools they use.  The students worked on a matching activity
that the students had to cut and paste.
