Fun Friday!


We started off our morning with our Show & Share presentations and enjoyed the Jump Rope for Heart activities today.  The students were focused with their Time Math Test and worked in groups with a community helper matching activity.  The students had to practice their team work and reading skills to match word and picture cards.

Tremendous Thursday!

We started our morning with our Open Minded awards for the month of February, congratulations to all the winners!  The students also enjoyed Reading Buddies with the grade 4 students.

Inquiry into Language
The students practiced the formation and sound of the blend OW.  The students reviewed both sounds that the blend OW makes and brainstormed short words on the board.  The SK's also practiced printing in their printing booklets.

Inquiry into Math
The students continued reviewing more about time by the hour and half hour.  The students worked with partners on a cutting and pasting activity and had to match the correct digital time to the analog clock.

Unit of Inquiry
The students continued learning more about Community Helpers.  The students brainstormed what they already know about firefighters and watched a video.  We worked on an art activity, creating our own firefighter hats and the students enjoyed role playing in groups.

Inquiry into Language
The students were focused on their February Spelling Test today.

Inquiry into Math
The students continued reviewing more about time by the hour and half hour.  The students enjoyed playing a game where they had to challenge against each writing down the correct digital time to the analog time on the white board and practiced with an activity sheet.

Unit of Inquiry
The students continued learning more about Community Helpers.  The students brainstormed what they already know about paramedics and watched a video.  We worked on an art activity, creating our own crossing signs and practiced our reading skills with a booklet.
