Wonderful Wednesday!

Some of of us were a little tired staying up past our bedtimes from yesterday's grade 3-6 Christmas Concert, but we managed!  We started our day with a sharing circle to talk about what we enjoyed most about the concert yesterday.  The students practiced the formation, sound and brainstormed words that had the blend sound zz.  The SK's also practice their printing skills in their booklets.  The students worked in groups with Math centers and ended their day with a cutting and pasting sequencing activity.

Thankful Tuesday!

We started our day practicing the sound, formation and song of the letter Zz.  The students brainstormed words that began and ended with letter Zz and worked with partners on an activity sheet.  The students also reviewed and worked on addition skills using a number line with numbers from 0 to 20.  We used manipulatives and worked on an activity sheet.  The rest of our afternoon was spent watching the grade 3-6 Christmas concert at the dome!

Letter and blend sound of the week:
Zz and zz

We started our day practicing the formation, sound and song of the letter Zz.  The students worked on their printing skills in their booklets and were engaged with an I Spy Game with the large Jolly Phonics book.  The students who brought in the rough copies of their Soaring Through Space written component, worked on their final copies in class.  We ended our day working on some addition math problem solving questions with an activity sheet and manipulatives.

Fantastic Friday!

We started our day with our Show & Share presentations, the students did a great job talking about the letters of the week Yy and Xx.  The students enjoyed working with partners with an I Spy writing activity, where they worked with partners to find and record Christmas words in the classroom.  The SK's used the words they found and practiced their sentence writing skills.  We also reviewed our addition skills using manipulatives and working on an activity package.  We ended our day with a cutting and pasting activity, the students had to place the planets in order closes to the sun.

Today the students started their morning brainstorming words that begin and end with the letter Yy.  We practiced the sound, song and formation of the letter Yy with an activity sheet.  The SK's reviewed what they learned yesterday about number line counting (1 to 10) with addition questions.  The students practiced their skills with a number line game and activity sheet.  We ended our day reviewing the order of planets closes to the sun and worked with partners with a cutting and pasting activity.  We would also like to say "thank you" to Ms. Alexa our TA, it was her last day today!

Wonderful Wednesday!

Thank you to all the parents who came to support our Christmas Concert last night!  We started our morning having Reading Buddies with the grade 4 students.  The students worked on the formation, song and printing of the letter Yy in our printing books and was engaged with an I Spy Game.  The SK's worked in groups and collaborated to place picture cards of the planets in order, closes to the sun.  The students also worked on an addition, number line game and followed up with an activity sheet.
