Happy Halloween!!!!

We had so much fun today dressing up and all the Halloween activities! We started our day with a costume contest assembly, the students voted on the best student and teacher costumes. The SK's enjoyed a sensory guessing game! Each of the students had the opportunity to use their sense to touch and had to guess what items were inside each of the bags. The students also worked with partners with an eye spy Halloween writing activity and decorated their own Halloween treat bags! We ended our day with the students handing our their treats and they promised to open their treats until they got home and showed their parents =)

I hope everyone has a fun and safe Halloween! Keep dry from the rain!

Wonderful Wednesday!
The students did a great job with their October Spelling Test!

Language
The students practiced the formation and sound of the letter Rr. The students practiced printing upper and lower case letter Rr and short words that begin with the letter Rr in their printing books. We also enjoyed an eye spy game, finding pictures in our large Jolly Phonics book, that begins with the letter Rr.

Unit of Inquiry
The students continued to explore the season Fall with their 5 senses. Today they explored their sense of touch with a guessing game. Each of the students had the opportunity to choose an item from a mystery box with their eyes closed. They had to use their sense of touch to describe and guess what the item was. The students also practiced their sentence writing skills and wrote down a simple sentence about what they observed.

Math
The SK's continued learning more about Patterns! Today the students practiced completing a variety of patterns with an activity sheet and working with partners.

Thankful Tuesday!

The students were excited to get their pictures taken today for Picture Day!

Language
The students reviewed the formation and sound of the letter Uu. The students practiced printing upper and lower case letter Uu and circled short Uu words with an activity sheet. We enjoyed exploring a search and find game using Uu word picture cards. Each of the students had the opportunity to find a card hidden in the classroom and practiced spelling the word.

Unit of Inquiry
The students continued learning more about the season Fall and exploring with their 5 senses. Today the students enjoyed exploring the outdoors with a class trip to the playground outside. The students focused on using their 5 senses, exploring trees, leaves, pine cones, etc. When we came back inside, we had a sharing circle and talked about all the things we observed that reminded us of Fall. The students also worked on a Using My Senses During Fall writing activity.

Math
The SK's continued learning more about Patterns! The SK's worked with partners on a cutting and pasting activity, they had to complete each picture pattern.

The students continued learning more about the season Fall and exploring with our 5 senses. The SK's listen to a Five Senses read a loud story and showed their understanding with a writing booklet activity.

Math
The SK's continued to review our Math unit on Patterning! The students practiced recognizing and completing more than one pattern today with a stamping activity.

Sharing the Planet:
