Happy Monday!

We started our busy morning with our in class oral presentations, all the students did a fantastic job!  We also had a chance to preview the Book Fair and make a wish list that was sent home.  Students may purchase books tomorrow.

Inquiry into Language
The students presented their poems to all the SK classes today and worked on the formation and sound of the blend ai.  The students worked on filling in ai words on an activity sheet and brainstorming ai words.  Here is the song: ai song

UOI
The students worked on their sentence writing skills today, with a winter theme writing activity.  The students had to use specific winter theme words and create sentences with them.

Daily 5
The students were engaged in Literacy Centers with partners today.

Math
The SK's focused on a pretest for our new math unit, Time by the hour.

Reminders:
-In class oral presentations will take place on Monday, February 5th.
-Book Fair is from February 4th to 8th.
-On Wednesday, February 6th, students may come dressed as their favorite fantasy or book character to help celebrate the theme of the Book Fair.  If students would like to participate, they must bring in $2.
-100th day of School will be held on Wednesday, February 13th.  Students will dress up like they are 100 years old on that day!
-Spirit day is on February 14th, students may dress up in Valentine's Day colours (red, white, pink).
-The school will be closed for a PD day and Family day on February 15th & 18th.
-Bake Sake: February 26th & 27th.
-Pancake Day is on March 5th.
