Motivational Monday!

We started our morning with an assembly that focsued on Orange Shirt Day and the meaning behind it : Here is a link to learn more about Every Child Matters: https://etfofnmi.ca/?page_id=55

Language
The students practiced the formation and sound of the letter Mm. The students practiced printing upper and lower case letter Mm and short words that begin with the letter Mm in their printing books. We also enjoyed an eye spy game, finding pictures in our large Jolly Phonics book, that begins with the letter Mm.

Unit of Inquiry
We reviewed what we have already learned about from farm to plate, parts and needs of a plant and the parts of a plant we eat. The students were introduced to our summative assignment and worked on the rough copy of the written component.

Math
The SK's practiced counting to 100 by 5's! We first together as a class and counted on our class one hundred's chart, we focused on the number pattern and sang our counting to 5's song. The students worked independently or in groups, working on a cutting and pasting activity. The student had to fill in the missing numbers.

Fun Friday!

We had so much with our last day of Fall Fundraiser week! We started our day with our Show & Share presentations, the students did a great job talking about items that they brought from home that began with the letters of the week. The students were introduced to counting by 10's to 100! We counted first as a class with our one hundreds chart and a 100's song. The students worked independently with a cutting and pasting activity and ended our day with our Dance Party!

Terrific Thursday!

Language
The students reviewed the formation and sound of the letter Nn. The students practiced printing upper and lower case letter Nn and circled short Nn words with an activity sheet. We enjoyed exploring a search and find game using Nn word picture cards. Each of the students had the opportunity to find a card hidden in the classroom and practiced spelling the word.

Unit of Inquiry
The students reviewed parts of a plant and the function of each part. We also practiced our reading skills and printing skills with a fill in the blanks booklet activity.

Math
The SK's were introduced to counting by 10's to 100! We counted together first a class with the help with our one hundreds chart. The students reviewed and applied their knowledge with a cutting and pasting activity sheet.
