Thankful Tuesday!

The students are all very excited for their Christmas Concerts today!  We can not wait for you to see all our hard work!  This morning we started our day choosing a planet for our summative project.  Each students had the opportunity to pick a piece of paper that had a different planet on it from a bowl.  We discussed the expectations required for the project and answered questions that they had.  The students also worked on a cutting and pasting activity, the students had to place the planets in order closes to the sun.  We reviewed the letter Xx and practiced the formation and sound with an activity sheet.  We ended our day with the afternoon Christmas Concert.

We spent the whole day practicing for our Christmas concert at the dome!  We ended our day with our Show & share presentations.

Terrific Thursday!

The students started our morning reviewing the formation and sound of the letter Ww, with an activity sheet.  The SK's worked with partners to print upper and lower case Ww and had to match short words with the correct picture.  The students listen to a read a loud story about the planet Neptune and worked on an art activity.  For Math, the students worked on an addition activity using manipulatives and problem solved a question in their Math books.  We also practiced our Christmas Concert performance in the Gym, with Ms. Bannon's class as our audience.

Thankful Tuesday!

We started our morning with a baking activity!  The students participated in adding and mixing the ingredients for our cookies, we also reviewed the steps from beginning to end and talked about the tools we used.  The SK's learned more about another planet today!  We had a sharing circle to talk about what we already know about Saturn.  The students listened to a read aloud about the planet Saturn and worked on an art activity.  We ended our day with reviewing the sound and formation of the letter Vv.  Students worked with partners on a printing and matching activity sheet.

Magnificent Monday!

I hope that everyone who had to commute today had a safe drive!  We will also not be having a Spelling Test for the month of December, due to the short month.

 We started our day with an activity with the high school basketball team, to help promote their game tomorrow after school.  The students had to guess how many kindergarten friends it took to measure the basketball team?  The students listed to a read a loud titled Mars and worked on a journal writing activity.  We also practiced our Christmas Concert song in the dome today.
