Fantastic Friday!

Congratulations to all the November Thinker Award winners!  The students who presented their Show & Share for the letter Jj and blend sound ss, did a fantastic job!

The SK's started our morning with a short vowel fill in the blanks writing activity.  The students worked with partners to complete short words with missing vowels.  Also, for UOI the students listened to a read a loud about planets that taught them more about planet Earth and Venus.  The SK's used a variety of art materials to recreate their own planet Earth and Venus.

Wet and Windy Wednesday!

The students enjoyed exploring and purchasing items at the Book Fair.  Just a reminder that the Book Fair will be open to parents from 2:45 to 6 pm and will run during school hours until Friday.

Language
The students practiced the formation and sound of the blend sound ss.  We brainstormed and sounded our words that ended with ss sound and practice printing in our booklets.  Students who also finished early, practiced their sentence printing skills

Unit of Inquiry
The students continued learning more about Space!  Today the students watched an educational space video, we had a sharing circle to talk about what they had observed and practiced our sentence writing in our Journals.

Math
Due to technical difficulties, the Data Management test will be postponed until further notice.  The SK's continued reviewing for our upcoming Data Management test and explored Math Centers with partners.

Thankful Tuesday!

The students looked great in their Galaxy inspired outfits today and enjoyed exploring and purchasing items from the Book Fair today.  The Book Fair will be open until Friday, November 29th,.

The students continued learning more about Space!  Today we finished our rocket/ space ship art activity from yesterday.

The students practiced the formation and sound of the letter Jj.  The students practiced printing upper and lower case letter Jj and short words that end with the letter Jj in their printing books.  We also enjoyed an eye spy game, finding pictures in our large Jolly Phonics book, that end with the letter Jj.

Unit of Inquiry
The students continued learning more about Space!  Today we had a sharing circle to discuss what we already know about rocket/space ships and questions we would like to answer.  The students used a variety of materials to make a rocket/space ship art piece.

Math
The SK's reviewing for our upcoming Data Management test. The students reviewed and worked on a tally and graphing activity sheet and worked with partners or in groups.
